Is there a cost to join?

No, there are no start-up costs or membership fees

 

Are there any fees?

Yes, there is a 12% fee on all sales before tax and shipping. These fees cover the cost for credit card transactions through our secure payment gateway, marketing expenses, site development and operational expenses.

Why wouldn’t I build my own e-commerce platform?

shopmytown is a digital community marketplace so local buyers have a convenient one-stop shopping experience. Your store will be seen by the entire region attracting new customers to your online store.

Is the site payment system secure?

Yes, shopmytown’s payment gateway is a highly trusted and secure platform.

Is my information sold or distributed?

No, your personal information is kept private and secure.

How hard is it to set up my shop?

shopmytown is designed for you to set up your store easily. We also provide a step-by-step instructional page on the site as well as in-person support if you need it.

How many product SKUs can I list?

We want you to be successful, so add as many product SKUs as you wish.

How do I know when someone places an order?

You’ll receive an email notification every time an order is placed and your business dashboard will provide you with full details of all order activity.

How do I get the order to my customer?

You have options!  Choose one, two or all three to suit your needs.

Option 1 – curbside pick up, Option 2 – deliver-to-customer service (since it’s local), Option 3 – 3rd party delivery

What are the payment options?

Credit card only.  VISA and MasterCard

How can I make this work for my business?

Tell your friends, your family and your customers and use your social media to let them know you have an online store.  Also, include great photos of your products, and provide excellent customer service by preparing and delivering your orders in a timely manner.

Can I buy from more than one store at one time?

Yes you can.  Simply add products to your cart no matter the store and place your order.  You will receive confirmation of your order from each store you have purchased from.

How does the shipping and handling work?

How do I handle a complaint?

All product or store related complaints are handled directly between the customer and store.  All platform related complaints are handled by contacting shopmytown at our contact us page.
